Lynne has been a Registered Massage Therapist for over 15 years. She is a graduate of the 3000 hr West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Vancouver, BC. Her other studies have included a Bachelor of Health Science degree, Aromatherapy, Reflexology and Yoga (500+hrs). She is continually advancing her education through workshops involving mindfulness and myofascial release. She has also dabbled as an instructor and clinic supervisor at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy (Victoria) for several years before her move up island. Lynne established The Solace Centre in 2007 here in Nanaimo and has been nurturing it’s growth ever since.

Lynne incorporates Myofascial Techniques, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point Release, Reiki and Breath work in her treatments. Through her experience as an RMT and Yoga Teacher, she finds it most effective to treat the body as a whole. She respects evidence based research and takes an open and integrative approach to her treatments.

Lynne treats a large variety of massage clientele. They include post motor vehicle accident pain, acute and chronic sports injury, pre and post operation (e.g. hip and knee replacements), pre and postnatal, general health maintenance and stress reduction. She is always open to a challenge.

Sheila Carroll

Sheila is a graduate from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy program in Victoria, BC. She is a passionate Registered Massage Therapist who continually encourages each client to heal by using a variety of modalities including Deep Tissue Massage, Trigger Point work, Myofascial Release, and Muscle Energy Techniques.

She has practiced in clinical settings and yoga studios offering relaxation and therapeutic massage including pregnancy massage, treatment for tension-headaches, repetitive strain injuries, and injury rehabilitation.

She practices guided breath work to enhance the experience and to ease each client into deep relaxation. During your visit you will be given simple tools to help keep you feeling balanced.

With experience as a yoga instructor and history as a dancer, her enthusiasm for working with the body has led her to a career in Massage Therapy. Whether she is catering to chronic pain symptoms, to acute injuries, or to relaxation, she believes regular massage is helpful in achieving optimum health by increasing vitality and decreasing overall stress. Sheila’s calming nature will leave you feeling stress free with whole body relaxation.

Madeleine’s first experience with massage therapy was as a young athlete. She injured her back while on the wrestling teamed was unable to train or compete. The treatment and education she received changed her life! Not only was she able to participate in the sport she loved, but it inspired her to become a Registered Massage Therapist herself. Madeleine completed the 3 year 3000 hour program at the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy in Vernon, BC. The training involved work with many different populations including maternity, elderly, children and athletes. Since graduation Madeleine has worked at various clinics, spas and even a remote heli-ski lodge. In her practice Madeleine incorporates postural assessment, trigger point release, facial work and swedish massage. She works with you to balance your body so you can keep dong what you love. Whether that is walking along the beach, crafting or climbing mountains.


Terri Garvey

Terri Garvey is an RMT bringing 16 years experience to the table.

Her diverse massage background started in Ontario with a keen interest in sports therapy, rehabilitation and nursing. Her continued education in anatomy and physiology ultimately led her down a more relaxed path into the field of Massage Therapy.

Eventually, her career evolved into managing her own massage practice and mobile service. Terri sharpened her skills by developing patient based treatment goals and doing assessments in long term care facilities and a physiotherapy clinic. Her treatment concentration at that time was motor vehicle accidents and sports injuries. However, Terri is capable of treating patients with a variety of physical disorders and limitations. She has also worked in renowned spas from Toronto to Tofino and in the Comox Valley.

Terri is passionate about applying therapeutic solutions to the challenges her clients present, finding it deeply rewarding to assist in their progress and recovery. She achieves this by implementing skilled service through an assortment of modalities such as Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, Muscle Energy and Swedish Massage techniques. A key component of her wholistic approach to treatment is lending guidance to clients on home care, health maintenance and injury prevention. Terri applies her knowledge in a variety of meaningful ways. Due to her own struggles of healing from limiting and painful injuries, she has an empathetic approach to treatment. Supporting a relaxed approach to wellness and holding a safe space is naturally created by her calm and intuitive nature.

Terri feels confident in delivering “treatment and prevention of the soft tissues and joints by manipulation to develop, maintain and augment physical dysfunction or relieve pain”. With extensive experience working towards improving conditions such as fibromyalgia, tension headaches, sciatica and piriformis syndrome. Helping to reduce the physical tensions that come with hormonal changes and transitions women experience is also something Terri is well versed in. She takes pride in her professional standards and work ethics while assisting clients to gain a sense of wellness and relaxation.

Terri is also a Certified Aromatherapist and Reflexologist and has an interest to pursue more education in the field of Craniosacral Therapy. She understands the importance of self care and nurtures herself through the healing properties of aromatherapy, music, dance, yoga, mindful meditation, animal companionship, and communing with nature.


Katie Littlejohn

Katie started her massage therapy career in 2007, and brings to The Solace Centre a wide range of experience to benefit her clients.

Every client is unique and Katie understands this, utilizing treatments to address each client’s particular needs after assessment. She creates a treatment plan and home care regime that will cater to each individual’s needs whether it is rehabilitation, prevention or maintenance. Katie welcomes people with all kinds of ailments to her practice, and seeing patients’ lives improve with treatment brings her great joy.

Katie has a special interest in women’s health, specifically for women before, during, and after pregnancy. Her treatment approach is to create an environment for the body to heal itself through various techniques such as trigger point release, myofascial release, muscle energy or relaxation techniques.

Katie graduated from the 3000 hour massage therapy program at the Victoria campus of West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2007. In addition to working in a private wellness centre, she was honoured to return to the College to work with massage students as a clinical supervisor and teaching assistant from 2011 to 2013.

Katie is excited to return to her hometown of Nanaimo and bring her therapy skill set to you, and she looks forward to sharing her passion for massage therapy and a healthy lifestyle.

Brittany became Registered as a massage therapist in 2012, after completing the 3000 hour program at West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Victoria BC.

Brittany has a passion for helping her clientele develop stronger connections between mind and body throughout her massage treatments. With the belief that our bodies are instruments that reflect our life experiences, Brittany places importance in slowing down and learning to listen to what our bodies have to say.

With this in mind, and at heart, Brittany enters each treatment session with an intention to address and tend to chronic or acute pains and dysfunctions that may be limiting her client’s quality of life and causing any signs of dis-ease.

Treatment techniques often utilized by Brittany include traditional Swedish massage, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, joint mobilization techniques, and craniosacral therapy. She also loves to incorporate traditional Hawaiian Lomi Lomi techniques into her massages to increase circulation and deepen relaxation.
